The Meinl HCS 16" crash is the perfect starter crash for any drummer! for such a low cost the sound quality is pretty good, and it has outlasted a more pricey zildjian zbt crash! I have had my HCS for about 1 year now and it shows no signs of cracking or key holing and it sounds just as good as when i opened the package up. It has a pretty fast crash sound and decays really fast it has a little ring after it but after about 2 months of playing it you don't really notice it. I would recommend any beginner drummer this crash. It is a nice sturdy cheap crash that will allow you to beat the heck out of it and not crack and last long enough so you can figure out how to hit cymbals and what type of music you want to play.
